Achim started his profession as apprentice in transportation
in 1989 and throughout his career has been working for multinational
freight forwarding companies. For the past eleven years he is with
Kuehne + Nagel where he started in Hamburg being responsible for
seafreight route development from Germany to South America and developed
several new trade lanes for consolidation cargo. Achim then transferred
to Santiago de Chile as National Sales Manager where he redesigned
the sales force and turned around declining market share into leading
position. As marketing expert and visionary he was called to Switzerland
based head office in 2002 in order to develop, position and direct
a niche product providing the most customer focused and acclaimed
logistics service in the hospitality industry.
As Corporate Vice President of KN Hotel Logistics,
Achim’s division specialises in supplying luxury hotel toiletries,
guest amenities and spa products to the five star hospitality market
and cruise lines worldwide and on demand and provide FF&E installation
services and OS&E pre-opening logistics to the finest hotel
brand names on all five continents.
Achim holds a degree in economics from Germany’s
oldest private business school for transportation and foreign trade
(DAV) as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration
and management studies from Oxford Brookes University in England.
In 2005 he successfully acquired an Executive MBA in Logistics from
University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Besides his German mother
tongue he speaks English and Spanish fluently.
